Mindfulness colouring competition.

For the last couple of weeks we have been creating a mindfulness colouring competition that will be running on the 22nd of July for primary schools across our community. We have been working really hard this last couple of weeks so that competition will be something that the students who are taking place in this competition will have fun and enjoy what they are doing. We are creating this competition for our community impact project to give primary school students something to do during the holidays.

Today I had to write Mr Sutton a letter to see if he could help us spread awareness about this competition
but talking about it on the school website or school Facebook page so that we could get more participants
to join and take part in our competition.

Cip rubbish project

Today in CIP (community impact project) we were continuing on with our rubbish project, today we were looking at images of art pieces to give us inspiration about what we could make out of rubbish to make an sculpture about the Hornby community. We looked at photos of different animals and a lot of other pieces we came up with a couple ideas of what we could make but at the end we had a vote with the best three ideas we came up with one of them was to make a big H that represents are school (Hornby High School) and the Hornby community, another idea we came up with was to make a sign saying something positive and the last one was to make a sculpture of a bird, I personally voted to make a sculpture of a bird because I thought it would be a good idea to make a Kea because I learned before anyone lived in Hornby, Hornby was a big swamp and Keas ran all around the swamp.Related image

Community Impact Projects

In Community Impact Project I chose to join ( Hornby high school Community ) I decided to choose this group because I want to make an impact in our school to make it so more people can have fun while at school. My group and I  ( Hornby high school Community )  had to come up with ideas and ways to make a difference or an impact in our Community, One of our ideas was to have a bake sale and with the money we make from that we could put it towards sports equipment and charity.

My idea was to fund raise buy having sausage sizzles and bake sales with that money we make, I reckon we should put it towards a new and better basketball ball court.

To achieve this my group and I will work hard to get money of fundraising and we will need to talk to Mr Sutton about where we could locate it and Mr Hillyard about getting the hoops and the equipment we would need to achieve this.
