Hurumanu drama

Today in hurumanu drama we were doing performances the performances were about  all the things we have done this term in drama we were showcasing pretty much all our performances we have been learning the whole term my group Gerald, Bryce, Jullien and me our first performers we did was explaining what we like to do and why it is good for us then we did an action for it and paused in that action for a while I said "I like to sleep because when I wake up I feel enigized and ready for the day" Then I layed down on the grown and acted like I was sleeping. Then Gerald spoke he said "I like to basketball because it is fun and it gets me fit" then he paused in a shooting form. Then it was Julliens turn he said " I like to run because it gets me fit and health" then he paused in a running position the it was Bryce's turn he said " I like to learn because it ge nts me enigized and its fun" then he paused in a position like he was a book.

Learning story,

For the last couple of weeks my class 8/7bh have been working on our learning story. A learning story is a record of what a teacher has seen a student, or group of students doing in there learning. The students write about everything thing they have learnt in a period of time and explain what they have done threw that time.

Women's suffrage.

This week in reading we had to draw pictures of a Prime minister, scientist and a principle we had to draw them as what we normally would think they would look like because we were learning about gender stereotypes and the women's suffrage and why we drew the pictures as males and not females and why we drew them as females and not males.
I drew this prime minister as a Girl because as soon as I heard prime minister I thought of New Zealand's Prime minister Jacinda Arden.
I drew this scientist as a boy cause normally when u see a scientist they are boys and all the time you see crazy scientist with crazy hair and glasses on television that are also boys.
I drew a principal as a boy because the school I go to the principal is  a boy so that's were I got my inspiration from.

white powders

Aim: To learn about the makeup of different white powders.

There are  a number of different white powders in our everyday life. Some of these are harmful and others are not. Test the four white powders listed to see which one has been found at the airport.

Here are some examples of everyday kitchen white powders.

Flour, Cornflour, Sugar, Salt, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Icing Sugar, Tartaric Acid

Citric Acid, Gluten Free flour

You will be given a small amount of 4 white powders on your cardboard. On the black cardboard using a magnifying glass look at the powders.
Look at them under your magnifying glass and record what you see.

These are the four powders we will be using. Upload a photo of each powder.

1.  Cornflour
2.  Baking Soda
3.  Salt
4.  Sugar

Before you add the iodine, vinegar or water you will need to divide each powder into 3.

Materials
1.  Black Paper
2.  Red pen
3.  Ruler
4.  Magnifier
5. Baking soda, Sugar, Cornflour,Salt
6. Iodine
7. Water and vinegar

Steps

1. Get the 4 powders
2.  Get a piece of paper and divide it into 4 groups and put the 4 powders on each piece and label the paper
3. Look and examine each powder
4. come up with ideas on what  they look like, smell like and feel like
5. Write your ideas down

It looked weird to see cause u normally never see any of these powders and mixtures mix so it was cool to see what happened. One of my favourite parts of this experiments was when the water and cornflour mixed together because it made a  obleeck look and feel it was cool to see that because I never knew that, that would happen if u were to mix the two so it was a really cool to see.
